Did you know that Norway has the world's highest rate of sick leave?
This increase continues, and now the sick leave is the highest in 15 years. Figures from Statistics Norway for the 3rd quarter of 2024 show that the absence ended at 7.2 percent during this period. In total, almost 8 million man-days were lost to medically certified sick leave in the 3rd quarter of 2024.
Sickness absence entails a large cost for society and employers, while it can also contribute to increased strain on employees who are at work.
