BUHR er Gasellebedrift for andre året på rad

Gazelle company for the second year in a row

BUHR hit a market that was ready to consider an outsourcing model for HR. Not all companies are large enough to have their own HR department, which is why BUHR offers this opportunity through its subscription service.

Bjørg Ueland started BUHR alone in 2018, after several years of management experience in various industries. Today, they have 38 employees with branches in both Oslo and Stavanger, and deliver services to the entire country. Through a subscription solution, the customer gets access to an entire team of available and operational advisors, each with their own expertise in the HR field. They take care of all the customer's needs, including on-boarding, recruitment and sick leave follow-up. Should the customer find themselves in a difficult situation, they turn around and fix it.

Bjørg Ueland

– Throughout my career, I have noticed that some markets have had little or no respect for HR as a profession. Many have the opinion that HR is not necessary, and hand over responsibility to a random employee where the person is expected to solve everything. I wanted to do something about this, and therefore started BUHR, says Ueland.

Increases profitability for businesses

It can be costly not to do the groundwork in personnel and HR work correctly. Neat agreements, good hiring and avoiding conflicts, or assistance in handling them in a good way when they arise, can save the company large costs and make it more profitable.

– We are committed to quality and competence. That is why we are building an HR environment internally, where we develop ourselves to be relevant. Everyone here has a minimum bachelor's degree in HR, each with their own professional discipline. It is not possible for one person to cover all needs. That is why we are not a consulting service, but rather give our customers access to an entire HR department where we find the right contact person for their needs, says Ueland.

Don't take growth for granted

In 2022, BUHR had a turnover of NOK 26 million and a profit of NOK 3 million. This gave it the status of a Gazelle company. Dagens Næringsliv has named Gazelle companies since 2003, and the criteria are that the company must have doubled its turnover over four years, have a turnover of NOK 1 million in the first year, have a positive overall operating profit and have avoided falling turnover.

– I am an ambitious person with big dreams, and have made it a point to be the preferred supplier within our segment. We are very proud that several large energy groups and companies are benefiting from our services, and that the HR profession is gradually gaining the respect it deserves. But I do not take growth for granted. It is important that we dare to be honest with each other and be clear about what works and what does not, says Ueland.
